Question 3

Question 3

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Music video average rating 8/10 -
We learned that it successfully matched the genre of the music which the audience could tell was folk music. Also they outlined its ability to appeal to the target audience which they thought would be 18/19 teenage girls. A suggestion for improvements would be to use more locations, from this I learned that in the future a variety of shots should be used to create an overall more effective music video. Another piece of feedback was on the lack of movement of the artist which upon reflection from this feedback I can certainly agree with and next time perhaps including a narrative could have made this easier to implement.

Digipak average rating 9/10 -
We learned that it includes the common conventions of the indie folk genre for a digipak. The inclusion of the artists face was a thing pointed out as a positive which I agree with as it can help to establish a brand for the artist and also the track list is professional and is edited according to our feedback. Another convention which he picked up and liked is the contrast between the bright flowers and the cold black and white for the rest of the digipak. This was exactly what we wanted to create as it was a huge influence in our creative influences as we wanted a clear colour schemed which linked throughout the main product and ancillary texts.

Website average rating 8/10 -
Our audience liked that the website isn't too complicated and the simplicity of the website is visually appealing and also makes the website more accessible. It also has all of the key information needed. One of the most commented on things was the accessibility throughout, with mentions of how easy it would be to buy merchandise and tour tickets etc. I believe accessibility is they key to any website, to do this whilst maintaining our interesting visual style was crucial for us when creating the website and it reflected in our audience feedback. Once again the colour scheme was highlighted, suggesting that the three products have been integrated well, from my research and planning on branding, looking at artists such as James Bay I understood the importance branding has on creating a successful artist. Accessibility to social media was also praised which was important to us because from my post 'the role of the internet' I recognised the importance of building a following online to become a successful artist.
